When Jack Bidgood’s friends were caught up in a scam, they lost not only £25,000, but their home. “He and his partner were transferring half the deposit each to their solicitor for a flat in London. Her money arrived, his didn’t — he’d been hacked. They couldn’t buy the flat. It was a complete disaster,” Bidgood says.
A few years after his friends were the victims of the fraud, Bidgood, 31, bought a flat himself. “It was a horrendous experience,” he says.
